At Ebenezer Methodist Church, we are a vibrant faith community rooted in St. Georges, Bermuda, committed to proclaiming God’s Word and living out His love in practical ways. Our vision is to inspire each person to fulfill their divine purpose, deepen their relationship with Christ, and live in harmony with one another—transforming our community, island, and the world.
The Wesleyan Methodist Church of Bermuda (WMB)—our founding body—has a rich history of spiritual resilience and service. Today, we continue this legacy through an Associate Relationship with The United Church of Canada (UCC), allowing us to blend global Methodist traditions with local mission-driven ministry.
Guided by Romans 1:16 (“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ…”), we boldly share the Gospel while prioritizing:
Collaboration over isolation in God’s work.
Compassion, meeting human needs above institutional interests.
Generosity, giving freely as Christ gave to us.
We believe the Church is called to be a beacon of healing and justice. Through worship, outreach, and discipleship, we:
Worship dynamically (blending hymns and modern praise).
Nurture all ages—from Children’s Church to Young Adult V.I.B.E. groups.
Serve our community (e.g., monthly Community Dinners).
Pray fervently (Friday Zoom prayer gatherings).
Join us in person or online!
Sundays at 11:00 AM: Hour of Power (main worship) & Children’s Church.
Fridays at 6:30 PM: Word! Youth Ministry.
Last Thursdays: Ebenezer and Friends Community Dinner.

Rev. Cyril Simmons was born in Kingston, Jamaica, to Rev. Conway and Mrs. Joan Simmons. At just 10 days old, he moved to Bermuda, where he later attended the Berkeley Institute and Bermuda College before pursuing higher education at Morehouse College in Atlanta. There, he earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) with majors in Philosophy and Religion. Rev. Cyril furthered his studies at Oral Roberts University, where he obtained his Master of Divinity (M.Div.) degree.
During his time at Oral Roberts, he co-founded Divine Intervention Outreach, an initiative aimed at ministering to the everyday lives of people in the inner city. It was here that he met his beloved wife, Regina, and they were married in November 2003 in Detroit, Michigan. Together, they have three children: Jonah, Micah, and Lucah, making Rev. Cyril a proud and happy father.
Ordained in March 2005, Rev. Cyril is not only dedicated to his ministry but also enjoys curried goat as his favorite cuisine. A lifelong supporter of Chelsea FC, he believes that the upcoming season is their chance to win the European Champions League!
